With a sleek, slim profile, a clean interface and a wealth of features, the 2nd generation Beosound A1 is a powerful, portable speaker with an iconic design. The heart of the 2nd generation Beosound A1 is the Bang & Olufsen Signature Sound with aptX Adaptive Bluetooth technology. The Beosound A1 2nd generation is with the latest Bluetooth codec 5.1. fitted. This codec ensures much more reliable Bluetooth connections because it can determine the direction of the signal and determine the distance of a device with an accuracy of a few centimeters. In this way, fast connections to the Beosound A1 2nd generation are possible with lower energy consumption. In environments with many Bluetooth devices, 5.1 can now select any channel when establishing a connection, reducing the likelihood of mutual interference between channels.
The speaker's impressive playback time of up to 18 hours at regular volume and complete dust and water resistance allow you to enjoy your music anywhere, anytime - no matter where your travels take you. Additionally, the 2nd generation Beosound A1 features a built-in Alexa voice assistant and a specially arranged trio of microphones with far-field technology to ensure crystal-clear calls. Completely renewed user experience.
The Beosound A1 2nd generation offers a completely redesigned interaction experience that increases usability and puts the customer first. The button arrangement has been aligned centrally on the carrying strap, which serves as a visual reference point and makes the device easier to handle. The larger and clearer symbols also make it easier to identify each key.
Button feedback has also been improved to enable seamless interaction with the device. The LED display has been moved to a more prominent location on the top of the device, significantly improving readability from any angle and in any lighting conditions.
Another highlight is the significant improvement in battery life compared to the original BeoPlay A1. Now the device offers up to 18 hours of playback at normal volume and even up to 43 hours at low volume. At full volume the battery life is 3 hours.
In addition, the feedback on remaining battery life has been greatly optimized. There is now a former LED low battery warning indicator and a "fuel gauge" where you can see the exact battery level in the Bang & Olufsen app.

The characteristic, attractive shape with its gentle contours that makes the Beosound A1 unique is retained, but the classic silhouette has been refined in a more modern style. The aluminum cover remains lightweight, robust and protective, but has been given a modernized hole pattern. The increased feeling of modernity is further emphasized by the new logo emblem on the strap, which features the Bang & Olufsen trademark.
Portability, a key aspect of the Beosound A1, is emphasized even more clearly in the 2nd generation. The device itself is 5% lighter than its predecessor and sits 1 millimeter lower. The lower part of the case has been slimmer to give an elegant impression of floating or drifting - a lighter variation on the classic BeoPlay A1 design. The leather belt has been designed to be extremely versatile, allowing for a variety of placement options.
Smarter with Alexa.
The 2nd generation Beosound A1 is one of the first Bluetooth speakers on the market to fully integrate the Alexa voice assistant, controlled by activation words. Thanks to far-field technology, the 2nd generation Beosound A1 responds to instructions via an activation word (such as "Alexa") from a distance of up to 5 meters, depending on the spatial conditions. For even easier use, the voice assistant remains active and ready to respond to commands for up to 3 hours after the device is switched off.
