This visual feat was artfully achieved through the world-renowned aluminum expertise of Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark. The central extruded aluminum profile is meticulously polished and anodized, then fitted with curved end caps. These components are precision-engineered to ensure the curved edges blend seamlessly with the soundbar’s flat profile, resulting in one continuous, unified piece.
The solid oak lamella cover is crafted in a family-owned workshop in Denmark and is designed to perfectly complement Bang & Olufsen’s Beolab speakers, such as the Beolab 8 , Beolab 28 , and Beolab 50. By clipping the lamellas into place rather than using glue, they can be easily removed or replaced, ensuring the design remains as flexible as it is beautiful. For those seeking a different aesthetic, the fabric version offers a visually softer alternative that blends seamlessly into any interior decor.

The Beosound Theatre features 12 speaker drivers, including two custom-made 6.5-inch long-throw woofers, and an amplifier power of 800 watts* that generates a sound pressure level of up to 112 dB for a powerful and intense cinematic experience. Speech clarity is ensured by the custom-designed center channel, where the tweeter is mounted directly in front of the midrange driver. The alignment of these drivers ensures superior sound distribution, providing a high-quality experience for everyone in the room, while the dispersion pattern has been specifically engineered to optimize vocal quality.
Building on the Beam Width and Beam Direction Control developed for the flagship Beolab 90 speakers, the Beosound Theatre offers a groundbreaking three-dimensional sound dispersion. This is achieved through a patent-pending combination of direct, side-firing, and up-firing speakers. This means all drivers work in unison—not just to produce sound, but to precisely control its width and direction.
"We originally developed Beam Width and Beam Direction Control for the Beolab 90 to reduce the effect of side wall reflections at the listening position. Essentially, to make the walls disappear. In the Beosound Theatre, we use this technology to direct sound away from the listener, which increases the perception of space and allows for a much more immersive experience," explains Jakob Dyreby, Senior Technology Specialist.
