Rather than optimising sound for a single, fixed "sweet spot," our proprietary upmixing algorithm intelligently distributes the audio signals across the entire array of speakers. To help you realize your vision, Bang & Olufsen provides an intuitive online design tool. This tool assists you in the visual composition of your tiles while providing expert acoustic recommendations for the optimal placement of the speaker modules within your custom layout.
Unlike traditional speaker systems, Beosound Shape is designed to provide the ultimate in creative freedom—allowing you to tailor the size, shape, colours, and even the acoustic performance to your exact preferences. The modular tile-based design of Beosound Shape is built upon a single geometric form: the hexagon. Each tile serves a specific purpose—as a speaker, amplifier, or acoustic dampener—and can be arranged in any combination to suit both intimate and expansive spaces. Depending on your personal vision, you can arrange anywhere from two to an impressive 44 speakers within a single installation.
The Beoconnect Core connectivity hub, discreetly hidden behind one of the hexagonal tiles, enables high-fidelity wireless streaming from your mobile device via technologies such as Apple AirPlay, Chromecast built-in™, and Bluetooth. Beoconnect Core also features Multiroom functionality, allowing it to integrate seamlessly with other Bang & Olufsen products. This gives you the power to play different tracks in different rooms or fill your entire home with a single, synchronized melody.
A single installation can support up to 11 amplifiers. Each Amplifier Pack includes one amplifier and one empty tile (ideal for housing components such as the Beoconnect Core). You can daisy-chain up to 11 amplifiers in sequence. A variety of cable lengths are available in the configurator to suit your specific layout.
A Speaker Set consists of two speaker tiles. A single installation can scale up to a maximum of 44 speakers. Each amplifier is capable of powering up to four speakers. To connect the speakers to an amplifier, you can select from various cable lengths within the configurator.
An individual installation can include an unlimited number of acoustic dampening tiles. These can also be repurposed as empty tiles—for example, to conceal cabling—by simply removing the dampening material.
One Beoconnect Core is required for each installation. It can be discreetly hidden within an empty tile, such as the one provided in the Amplifier Pack. A data cable is required to connect it to the amplifier; these cables can be selected in the configurator.
All packs include: The star rail mounting system, connectors, screws, and spacers. Due to the nearly limitless design possibilities, cables are sold separately. Various cable lengths can be selected in the configurator to match your design. Should you require a bespoke solution, please contact us.
The installation process is a fundamental part of the design experience. Thanks to an intuitive interlocking system, the tiles can be combined with ease.
The Beosound Shape concept is engineered for a straightforward installation, suitable for both professionals and design enthusiasts alike. Our online design tool allows you to effortlessly visualize the final aesthetic and define your desired acoustic signature—mapping out the ratio of amplifier modules to speaker tiles, planning cable routing, and discreetly concealing the Beoconnect Core and power connections.
The installation is anchored by a star-shaped rail system. These individual rails connect via interlocking slats to form your custom wall configuration. For absolute precision, you can mock up your arrangement on the floor before securing the system to the wall. Once the star-rail system is screwed into place, the tiles, electronics, drivers, and wiring are simply mounted onto the frame. The rail system also serves as an integrated cable management solution, ensuring a clean, precise, and professional finish. All necessary mounting components—including star rails and connectors—are included within the packaging of each individual tile.
